Each one of my cutting boards are constructed using lumber hand-picked myself. I typically use woods such as Black Walnut, Hard Maple, Cherry and Oak, however many other hard woods can be used.
All of my boards are constructed using waterproof glue and receive a heavy dose of mineral oil (mineral oil is food-safe and does not turn rancid like vegetable or olive oil does). After a day of allowing the oil to completely absorb into the wood, a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax is rubbed into the surface to seal the pores.
