Reuben Brauer retired from the U.S. Navy in 2017 and founded RB Wood Creations in Grovetown, Georgia in 2018. He built a reputation for building custom shadow boxes, cutting boards and other pieces of fine woodworking.

A single-person operation, Reuben started woodworking in 2015 and has spent the past few years providing his customers with truly one-of-a-kind pieces.  The bulk of the RB Wood Creations business is cutting boards and butcher blocks, but retirement pieces, shadow boxes and various other artistic pieces are a close second.

My Process

It all starts with the wood

I search for and spend an eyebrow-raising amount of money on top quality hardwoods. To make a beautiful, lasting cutting boards and butcher’s blocks, I use only the highest-grade hardwoods, to include:  Hard Maple, Black Cherry, Black Walnut, Wenge, Padauk, Sapele, and many more domestic and exotic hardwoods. Ask any owner of a RB Wood Creations board and they’ll tell you the quality is second to none.

Uncompromising craftsmanship

Careful attention to details like wood grain direction and seamless joinery are perhaps the most important details in ensuring a board will stand the test of time. Being small also means that I can easily customize, specific pieces.  Want something unique that you won’t see in a friend’s or colleagues’ home? Just ask me!

The little things that make a big difference

We only use Titebond III glue, which is EPA approved as food safe and waterproof. I soak each board in food-grade mineral oil to give it water resistance and I hand buff each board with beeswax to give it luster and additional protection. I don’t skip the details, because they really help make my products exceptional pieces of functional art.

RB Wood Creations boards is built to be beautiful, and built to last and will be pieces to pass down throughout the generations.
